Vehicle Transport Services to Atlantic City

Vehicle Transport Services to Atlantic CityAtlantic City is located in southeastern New Jersey, on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean (as its name suggests). A large resort and gambling town, Atlantic City’s history extends back into the mid-19th century, when it was first founded as a health resort, where people could get away from the hustle and bustle of Philadelphia and New York and get away. Atlantic City’s image, however, quickly grew into one of a resort town as opposed to a getaway for health reasons (much like areas in the southwest were in the early 20th century), and with that came the rise of gambling and festivities – particularly during Prohibition, where alcohol (despite being illegal) was served without hesitation at many hotels and saloons along the city’s now-famous boardwalk. Today, the city is almost a mini Las Vegas; though home to only 39,500 residents, Atlantic City leaders have been trying to grow the city despite numerous setbacks over the years. You can learn more about Atlantic City via the city’s official website.

Atlantic City, located on the east coast of New Jersey, is not accessible via any major interstate highway, which can make it more difficult to transport vehicles to or from the area. It has several state highways as well as the Atlantic City Expressway which provide transportation services to and from the city, but these are not as heavily traveled by auto transporters and really, on the whole, don’t see a lot of auto transport traffic, at least from a customer standpoint. Atlantic City is a city that many people visit, but few move to or from – this is evidenced by the fact that it first reached 40,000 permanent residents in 1910, but its population peaked in 1930 at just over 66,000 and has fluctuated ever since. Much of this has to do with the fact that the city is built for tourism and not for really living there; most people that live there work there in one of the many tourist traps and casinos that dot the boardwalk.

When shipping to or from Atlantic City you should expect slightly higher pickup wait times as well as slightly higher prices. Though the city is well-known, it is not the most cost-effective city to ship to despite being only a few hours outside of Philadelphia. You will likely find cheaper prices for transport to or from Atlantic City if you were to meet your driver for pickup or delivery of your vehicle in Philadelphia, or at least on the outskirts of the city. Major metro areas are more of a draw for auto shipping companies and as such more trucks are willing to take freight going to or from Philadelphia than Atlantic City, which could conceivably lower your auto transportation price as well as how long you have to wait for pickup.
