Auto Transport Services to Rio Rancho, New Mexico

Rio Rancho 1Rio Rancho is a city located in Sandoval County, New Mexico, and is the third-largest city in the state. Home to over 90,000 residents, Rio Rancho is one of the fastest-growing cities in New Mexico, having seen an over 800% rise in population since 1980.

Rio Rancho began as a housing development on the outskirts of Albuquerque during the early 1960’s. Developers, eager to attract more people to the area, advertised Rio Rancho in news markets as far away as New York City, which brought in a rather large amount of people initially.

Officially founded in 1961, the population of Rio Rancho grew rapidly over the next twenty years, and by the time of its incorporation in 1981 the population stood at over 10,000. Today, Rio Rancho is one of the fastest-growing communities in New Mexico and has worked to put more distance between itself and nearby Albuquerque, to emphasize the fact that Rio Rancho is its own separate entity and not just a subdivision of Albuquerque.

Rio Rancho sits just northwest of Albuquerque proper, and is easily accessible via Interstate 25, the main north-south interstate that services New Mexico. Though it doesn’t sit on the interstate proper (the city limits end just west of the interstate), it helps that it’s so close; auto shippers that are going down to Albuquerque  can easily stop in Rio Rancho (or near it, at the very least) before heading down into Albuquerque and further.

Rio Rancho’s location near one of the largest cities in New Mexico really helps its auto transport popularity, but then again so too does the fact that New Mexico, outside of the Albuquerque and Santa Fe metro areas, is relatively devoid of people; most shippers travel north-south along I-25 or east-west along I-40 in order to fulfill orders for shipments into and out of New Mexico.

You may be able to save a bit of money by talking to your auto transport carrier and finding out which route he’s taking into Rio Rancho; by meeting your driver somewhere that is easier, quicker or cheaper to get to and from, you may be able to save a bit of money on your next shipment.

Albuquerque, the largest city by population in the entire state of New Mexico, and its surrounding metro area is one of the most popular areas in the entire region surrounding it to ship a vehicle from and to.

Though the area doesn’t see a ton of traffic, during the winter months prices tend to drop because more auto shippers are running southern-based routes to escape the snows that are inherent in the northern areas of the country.

This includes east-west routes such as I-10 and I-40, the latter of which runs right through Albuquerque. This is what we mean when we say to talk to your representative or your carrier; by discussing your pickup and delivery options you can get a good feel for what the carrier’s looking to get out of your shipment and you should be able to save a bit of cash this way if you’re shipping on a budget.

More money will generally get your vehicle picked up faster, particularly during the summer months when routes are competitive and prices are high.
