Auto Transport Tips: Do Your Homework
The auto transport industry has thousands of different companies out there that are all competing for your business, and if you’re reading this right now chances are you’re the type of person who does their homework. Which is great. Maybe this post is pointless because most of the people who need to see it won’t see it, but we’re going to write it anyway because it’s important if you’re transporting your vehicle to find a reputable, reliable company who will make your life easier instead of harder. That’s why it’s important to always do your homework before booking with an auto transport company.
Seriously, one of the easiest things you can do is get multiple free quotes from an online auto transport quote provider (hey, speaking of which – you can fill out our free online quote form to get up to ten free quotes from reputable and reliable auto transport companies, if you want). From there, you can look those companies up and see how reliable and reputable they truly are. A great way to do that is to utilize a website called transportreviews.com. Transport Reviews is a great website that you can peruse to find out more about the companies that send you quotes (if you filled out our free form, that is). You can search them by name and see how other customers fared when using them to transport their vehicles. We work with only highly rated companies, but if you spot any that are less than stellar give us a call and let us know.
Knowing the reputation of your shipping companies is an important first step in choosing the right company for you. The next thing you want to do is look at all the quotes you get and compare them to each other. You shouldn’t book with the two most extreme quotes you get – you’ll either get a bad experience or you’ll get robbed because you paid too much. We always recommend going with the quotes in the middle, and usually there will be a wide range of quotes for you to choose from. Don’t make a decision right away unless you absolutely have to – take some time to talk to all the different companies you’re thinking of booking with and getting a feel for how courteous and polite and helpful they are. These are the companies that you will be arranging everything with, and they will be your main contact during the transport of your vehicle, so you want to book with someone who will treat you with respect (you’d be amazed at some of the rude people in the transport industry these days) and kindness.
