Maryland Auto TransportMaryland is a state located in the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. Some sources put it in the southern U.S., though it’s not really in the south, all things considered. That said, Maryland auto transport services shouldn’t be hard to find.

Its largest city is Baltimore, home to 621,000 residents. Baltimore tends to be its biggest auto shipping hub, though other cities such as Silver Spring and Frederick tend to see some auto shipping services, too. This makes finding auto transport to Maryland a lot easier, though there are some things you need to know.

A bit about urban Maryland auto transport services

As mentioned, Baltimore is the most popular shipping location in the state. This has a lot to do with both its size as well as its ease of access. Most car transporters use the interstate highways that run across the country to get to and from their most popular stops. It’s not surprising – most major cities sit along the interstate highway system by design, and Baltimore is no exception.

Most urban locations tend to be popular due to their size and ease of access, though. Note too that Baltimore sits not far from Washington, D.C., which is another major car transport hub. Of course, D.C. doesn’t sit in Maryland proper, but is rather its own independent district. That said, it still draws plenty of Maryland auto transport services, so urban shipping shouldn’t be hard to find or expensive to book.

About rural Maryland car shipping services

Eastern Maryland is where most of the major cities are; western Maryland, not so much. This can make shipping a car to western Maryland a bit more difficult but it does depend on the route. I- 68 is the main interstate that runs east-west through Maryland and hooks up with I-70 near Hagerstown. This is great for auto transport prices and services, but you have to know that the areas west of Maryland tend to be fairly rural. Rural shipping is tougher for carriers because of a lack of demand.

That said, much of western Maryland is a panhandle, so it’s more long than it is tall (on a map, anyway). So this does make it a bit easier for car shippers to run routes through it. However, there may be some areas that are harder to get to than others. As such, you’ll want to discuss shipping to rural Maryland with an agent. They can suggest ways to make things cheaper or faster for you, especially if you’re shipping on a budget or if you’re running out of time.
