This changed after Fort Worth was included on the Chisholm Trail, a major overland route west from areas like Louisiana and Alabama. This drastically altered Fort Worth, and by 1920 it had become a bustling city complete with several skyscrapers. Fort Worth became a leading supplier and distributor of oil during that time, and led to a boom that spread throughout Texas. Today, Fort Worth is one of the largest cities in Texas as well as the United States.
Fort Worth, like many cities in Texas, sees relatively hot summers and colder winters, with little snowfall – if any – even during the depths of the winter season. Average summer highs reach into the mid-to-upper 90’s, with temperatures in the triple digits not unheard of or all that uncommon. During the winter the temperatures get cold, with average highs only reaching into the mid-to-upper 60’s and lows routinely falling into the low-to-mid 30’s.
