Middletown is a city located in both Butler and Warren counties, in the U.S. state of Ohio. It is a co-anchor of the Cincinnati-Middletown Metropolitan Statistical Area, often shortened as the Cincinnati metro area. Middletown was first formed in 1833 by the Ohio General Assembly and was created from portions of three different townships at the time. Middletown is perhaps best known for being the former home to the headquarters of AK Steel Holdings Corporation, which founded a steelworks factory in Middletown in 1900. Though headquarters were moved in 2007, Middletown is still home to the steel works factory today.
