The Chevrolet Volt is a plug-in electric hybrid capable of a combined 92 miles per gallon equivalent (mpg-e), and is actually capable of 40 mpg running on straight gasoline; in other words, you don’t ever have to charge it up to keep it going. The Volt was Chevy’s response to the Prius and Leaf, as well as other all-electric or hybrid models that had appeared before the Volt became public in 2010. The Volt has won numerous awards, including the 2011 Green Car of the Year, 2011 North American Car of the Year, 2011 World Green Car of the Year and the 2012 European Car of the Year. It is sold globally, albeit on a limited basis, and has been in worldwide production since September of 2011. In Europe, it is sold as the Opel/Vauxhall Ampera.
The Volt comes in just one model, but it comes with a variety of options that makes it more expensive or cheaper, depending on what you put in it. The engine is a 1.4L Straight-4 gas-powered engine with a lithium-ion rechargeable battery as part of the secondary electric drive unit. Notably absent from the standard features is an in-dash navigation system, heated seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Other, more premium options include a Bose sound system, rear park assist and an in-dash navigation system/multimedia center with 30GB of storage. These options are additional, but do add to the price, which you can discuss with your local dealership, and you can learn more here.
The Volt, being a compact car, is easy to ship depending on where you’re coming from and coming to. The price for auto transport for a Chevy Volt won’t range too much from company to company, but rather the pickup and destination locations. Auto shipping from Maine to Nebraska will most likely be more expensive than from Los Angeles to Seattle, simply because not many carriers run through Maine or Nebraska, but plenty run from L.A. to the Northwest. It’s important to discuss your specific transportation needs with your auto shipping representative before paying any money, as moving to a larger city for pickup or delivery could save you some cash if you’re shipping from or to the middle of nowhere.
But no matter where you need auto transport to or from, American Auto Shipping is here to help. All you need to do is fill out our free online vehicle shipping quote request form and you’ll get an instant price immediately right on your screen. While the Volt may be a new vehicle, it’s no different than any other, and no matter where you’re shipping from or to we can help you. You can also call our toll-free telephone number and speak to our own live representatives who can answer questions and give you advice about your auto transportation.
