Parker is a city located in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. Home to a population of just 840 residents, Parker is considered to be the smallest incorporated city by population in the United States, though this has been disputed. Parker is an incorporated city, however; it was incorporated during the Pennsylvania Oil Boom in the 1870’s and at one point the city had a population of over 20,000. However, once the oil boom ended Parker’s population began to disappear, and the city has not eclipsed a thousand residents since the 1920 U.S. census. Parker is a part of the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area, though it sits almost 70 miles north of the city.
