State College is a borough in Centre County, Pennsylvania, and according to the official US Census conducted in 2000 the population of the borough was over 38,000, with the vast majority being college students. It is also the principal city of the State College Metropolitan Statistical Area and the main city serving Penn State University.

It was founded in an effort to restore Pennsylvania State College in 1855 and has grown alongside the college as more students moved to the city. The name of the college was changed to Penn State in 1953, and today the city serves mainly as a place for the students to live while attending the school. As such, the population of the city doesn’t change too often.

During the summer months temperatures in the city typically hit around 85 degrees during the day, with lows often dropping down to around 64 degrees overnight. During the winter months, however, temperatures hit around 40 degrees or so during the day, with lows typically dropping down to around 26 degrees overnight.
