Home to a population of over 15,650 residents, Bay Village is a smaller city in the Cleveland Metropolitan Statistical Area and was first settled as far back as 1810. Originally it was owned by Connecticut, who sold plots near where Bay Village is located today; at the time, the idea was that the land would be used for veterans of the Revolutionary War who had lost their homes or lands during the war. In 1950 the town was incorporated as a city, and today it is a small, mostly residential area of the Cleveland metro area.
