Kansas Auto TransportKansas is a state located in the Midwestern region of the U.S., but you probably already knew that. The state is home to over 2.9 million residents, and its largest city is Wichita. Wichita is probably the most popular auto transport location in all of Kansas, as a matter of fact.

This is in part due to its size, but also because it’s a major economic hub in the state. This means that people are moving to Wichita for work, which helps the city continue to grow. As such, when you’re looking at auto transport to or from Kansas, Wichita tends to be one of the most popular places to ship to.

A bit about Kansas car shipping services

Now Wichita may be the most popular city in the state to ship to, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only place to ship to. For starters, other large cities include Kansas City, Topeka and Overland Park. Overland Park is kind of cheating, though, as it’s just south of Kansas City. And that’s another popular car shipping location, Kansas City. This is because it’s actually just west of Kansas City, Missouri, which is far larger than its Kansas neighbor.

But it’s still a major metropolitan area, and those are what carriers really look for when they’re searching for freight. Routes to and from big metro areas cost less because of the larger customer base as well as higher ease of access. Major metro areas sit along major highways, and Kansas City is no exception. Four interstates run through the Kansas City metro area, including I-70 – which runs through all of Kansas – and I-35, which runs down to Texas and north to Minneapolis and eventually Duluth, at the Canadian border.

However, we’re neglecting to mention one of the largest areas of Kansas – that of Kansas itself. The state is an agricultural one, which means that there are a lot of small towns and rural areas. This means rural auto shipping services, and auto transport to and from Kansas is typically harder to find.

But why are rural Kansas auto transport services harder to find?

Auto shippers like big cities, not small towns. For one, they have more customers – we touched on that above. But, more importantly, they’re easier to get to. Those interstates that run through Kansas? Those run through some small towns, but not many. However, those small towns that do sit along the interstate, especially I-70, tend to see lower transport prices. If you look at a map, a place like Belvidere is going to be hard to get to for a carrier. But Kansas City? Not so much.

It’s important you speak with an auto transport agent if you’re shipping to or from rural Kansas. Car carriers are easier to find if your pickup or delivery locations are easy to get to, so make sure to talk about what big city you’re close to. Some places may not have that luxury (again, Belvidere comes to mind), but it’s best to try anyway. At the very least, you know for sure whether you can move your pickup or delivery location to make things easier on you.
