Try to Work With the Same Car Shipping Agent
When you book a shipment with an auto transport broker, chances are you’re going to talk to more than one person during your interactions with that company. Most every brokerage is staffed by an entire office full of representatives, each of whom have their own list of clients and customers that they are working with. Each of them tries their best to work with only their customers, but there are times when a coworker is on a break, or is out sick, or someone is stuck working a Saturday when almost no one else is, and they’re going to have to talk to customers that are working with other agents. That’s fine, it happens – but make sure that you know who you spoke to.
Working with the same car shipping agent adds consistency to your auto transportation experience, which is important. If you do end up talking to multiple agents during the course of shipping your vehicle, make sure you make a note of who you speak to if they aren’t your go-to representative. At worst asking for the name of the person you’re talking to and who is helping you is a minor inconvenience for them; at best, it saves you a lot of time and money and confusion. That’s mostly what you want to try to avoid when shipping a vehicle.
Confusion can kill an order as quick as a cancellation. Working with customers and carriers and being the middleman is hard for a car shipping agent, and every time someone else gets a hand into their orders can be problematic. It ranges from the mundane to the catastrophic, and can almost always be fixed by simple communication – but if you work in an office you understand a bit about office politics and that not everyone always gets along, even if it’s to the detriment of the customers.
