Flash Flooding May Make Southern California Car Shipping Harder This Weekend
Flood warnings are in effect across many parts of Southern California, throwing weekend travel plans into chaos.
A flash flood watch has been declared across Southern California including Los Angeles. Experts are predicting rainfall of up to an inch per hour in areas. 3-5 inches are expected in Los Angeles with 7-12 expected in the foothills.
This will almost assuredly make Southern California car shipping harder to accommodate this weekend.
How Southern California car shipping may be affected
Well, as we mentioned, Los Angeles is going to be getting a ton of rain. This can overwhelm drainage systems and cause flooding in key areas. In addition to flash flooding, mudslides, wind and power outages can and likely will affect transportation as well. Auto shippers need to prepare accordingly if they are planning any trips into affected areas.
From Los Angeles north to San Luis Obispo and east to Bakersfield, But the worst-hit parts are going to be in the Greater Los Angeles area.
L.A. is the biggest car transport hub in the state of California. It’s the second-largest city and attracts thousands upon thousands of shipments every single year. So something like this is naturally going to disrupt auto transportation services in the area. And since it’s one of the most important auto shipping hubs in the country, car haulers are going to be hard-pressed to make money in the area this weekend.
Snow is also expected to fall in the mountains of eastern California this weekend, with some areas getting over two feet. This will in turn make things more difficult when heading west into the area to begin with.

Ultimately you should expect few cars to be delivered or picked up in Southern California this weekend and even into early next week. If your vehicle is already booked and awaiting pickup, chances are it will be delayed. If you’re expecting delivery in the Southern California area, those too may be delayed at least until the weather clears.
