Bentonville is a city in and the county seat of Benton County, Arkansas, and according to the official estimate conducted in 2007 by the US Census Bureau the population of the city was over 33,000, which makes it the 11th largest city in the state. It is currently a member of the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers Metropolitan Statistical Area and is currently the tenth-largest city in the entire state of Arkansas.

Bentonville was originally known as Osage, and the town was already established by the time Benton County was formed in 1836. It was decided, after the formation of the county, that Osage would become the county seat; a post office was established in late December, 1836. but the name was changed to Bentonville – and incorporated as a town – in January the following year. Today, Bentonville is perhaps best-known as the location of the headquarters of Walmart, the largest retailer in the world, as well as the Whistler Group, which is a major manufacturer of radar detectors.

During the summer months, average highs in Bentonville tend to reach into the upper 80’s or lower 90’s during the day, with overnight lows often falling down into the low-to-mid 60’s. During the winter months, average highs typically reach into the mid-to-upper 40’s during the day, with lows dropping down into the low-to-mid 30’s overnight. Snow is relatively uncommon in Bentonville, though it has been known to fall on occasion; the general lack of it, though, does make it a more enticing area for auto shippers to run routes through, despite its size.
