Schertz is a city in the U.S. state of Texas, currently home to a population of over 34,900 residents. It stretches across Bexar, Comal, and Guadalupe counties and sits just outside of San Antonio’s outer beltway, firmly within the San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area. In terms of total population, Schertz ranks third in the metro area, and is considered a major suburb of San Antonio today. Schertz has been inhabited since the 1840’s, but did not see any substantial growth until the end of the 20th century and into the 21st; today, however, Schertz is one of the fastest-growing suburbs of San Antonio, thanks mainly to its proximity to Randolph Air Force Base, which sits just west of the city limits.

Auto Transport Tips to and from Schertz
Schertz is an interesting city, at least from an auto transport perspective, in that it’s a part of a major metropolitan area, has several interstates running through it, and really has all the major markers of a popular shipping area. The problem, mainly, is that Schertz stretches north-south…and doesn’t have a major north-south route running through it. This can be problematic for some people shipping in or out of Schertz, and if you’re one of those people you may see better prices by moving your pickup closer to San Antonio, or perhaps somewhere else in the metro area that a carrier will have an easier time getting to.
That being said, both I-10 and I-35 run through the southern and northern parts of the city, respectively. Both of those interstates are heavily traveled by auto transport carriers, so you stand a good chance of getting a good price in or out of Schertz based on the locations of those interstates alone. It would definitely be best if you could meet your shipper as close as possible to an onramp or offramp of one of those interstates, as that’ll make it much easier on the shipper and will likely be more enticing for them, should they be deciding whether or not to pick it up.
