DeSoto is a city located in Dallas County, in the U.S. State of Texas. Home to over 51,000 residents, DeSoto is a bedroom city of Dallas and is located just south of the city proper, sandwiched between Cedar Hill on the west side and Lancaster on the east. DeSoto is one of the oldest communities in northern Texas, as it was founded in the early 19th century and was one of the first settlements in what is today the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Statistical Area. DeSoto remained small and relatively quiet until the end of World War II, when residents of the area felt the need to incorporate in order to get help in improving their water system. Incorporation came in 1949, over a hundred years after its first founding, and its incorporation fueled further growth, as well as the annexation of several nearby unincorporated areas surrounding DeSoto. During the 1970’s and 80’s DeSoto was one of the fastest-growing bedroom cities of Dallas.

Auto Transport Tips to DeSoto
The city of DeSoto is located within the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also known as the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. More to the point, though, is that the entire metropolitan area is a popular shipping location for auto transport companies because there is generally high demand for shipping to and from the area throughout the year. This usually means lower prices to and from many cities in the metro area surrounding Dallas and Fort Worth, though some areas may be more expensive to get to than others, and price also depends on the other city – where you’re shipping from (if you’re shipping into DeSoto) or to (if you’re shipping out) will also help determine your price.
As mentioned, some areas of a metropolitan area, particularly the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, are going to be easier or quicker for auto shippers to get into and out of than others, and this is where you may see an impact on price or availability for auto transport to or from DeSoto. DeSoto sits south of Dallas along Highway 77, and while it’s not too far removed (closer to Dallas than, say, Midlothian) it can still be taxing for car shippers to get vehicles from there or to deliver there. You might be able to save a bit of cash by shipping to or from an area that is more auto transport friendly.
Your best bet would be to discuss your options with an auto transportation representative at an auto shipping company. They can give you great information on where the best places to ship into and out of are in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and they can also help you map the best route, thus helping you save money.
