Fairborn is a city located in Greene County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. It is currently home to a population of over 32,500 residents. Fairborn was originally two separate towns known as Fairfield and Osborn; the former was founded as early as 1816 and the latter in 1850. Their subsequent growth, as well as their close proximity to one another, made a merge all but inevitable; in 1950, Fairborn was born out of that merge, with the name being a portmanteau of the two original city names. Fairborn today is the home of Wright University, which has a campus population of over 20,000 students, and is a part of the Dayton, Ohio Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Auto Transport Tips to and from Fairborn
Fairborn is located fairly close to Dayton, one of the larger cities in the state of Ohio. The city itself sits only a few miles northeast of Dayton proper, which is great when you’re trying to ship a vehicle to or from the city considering the fact that car transport carriers prefer to run routes into and out of major metropolitan areas that are anchored by large cities. While Dayton is not the largest city in the state, nor does it anchor the largest metro area, it’s still fairly large, and more often than not sees a decent amount of car transportation traffic. This tends to lead to more competitive prices for you.
The main interstate highway that services Fairborn is I-275, which is an auxiliary interstate that runs north-south and shoots of of I-75 which runs to the west. It connects to I-75 both north and south of the Dayton Metro Area, and I-70 – a major east-west route that car transporters often utilize – actually runs just north of Fairborn. This allows car transporters to quickly and easily get into and out of Fairborn without having to spend a lot of time running along roads that aren’t all that popular among their industry, or routes that don’t have a lot of customers and thus aren’t as lucrative. By keeping their transit times shorter, carriers can make more money on each trip without having to increase prices, and the interstate highways more than help with that, which is why it’s generally cost-effective to ship a vehicle to or from Fairborn.
