Black Mountain is a town located in Buncombe County, in the U.S. state of North Carolina. It is home to a population of over 7,800 residents, and is a part of the Asheville, North Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area, the fifth-largest MSA in the state. Though settlement of the area dates back to the early 19th century, it was small and out of the way for a number of years; the first real road built through the town came in 1850, and the railroad followed in 1879. The coming of the railroads helped put Black Mountain on the map, but growth remained slow. During the 1960’s it saw a big boom in population, jumping up by over 140%; today, it is still growing, albeit slowly.

Auto Transport to Black Mountain Tips and Tricks
Black Mountain is not as popular of a vehicle shipping location as Asheville, though it’s not surprising considering the town’s size. Auto shippers want to run routes into and out of major cities and metropolitan areas, and Asheville is fairly well-known and a fairly popular shipping location in North Carolina. It being situated in the western part of the state helps as well, as car transporters coming from the west will want to stop there first, thus lowering prices on the route into Black Mountain (or out of it). It also sits right along Interstate 40 – this is good because I-40 is a main route into Greensboro and Raleigh, two of the most popular shipping locations in North Carolina. On the whole this helps your prices and transit times be lower and faster, though you may be able to save even more time or money by moving your pickup or delivery location to nearby Asheville; talk to an agent for more information.
