Simi Valley 1Simi Valley is a city located roughly thirty miles from Los Angeles and is a part of the Greater Los Angeles Area. Home to over 126,000 residents, Simi Valley was rated as the fifth-happiest city not in California but in the entire United States, and is ranked as the seventh-safest town by the FBI among cities with over 100,000 residents. Simi Valley sits within the valley of the same name, just northeast of Conejo Valley and Thousand Oaks. It is primarily a bedroom city and a commuter town; this means that while residents live and shop in Simi Valley, many of them work in other areas, namely in cities in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties. As such, much of its economy is based around retail stores, and this may be the main reason why Simi Valley has such a large population and high rate of happiness among its residents.

Tips for Auto Transport to Simi Valley

The main route through Simi Valley is Highway 118, also known as the Ronald Regan Freeway. 118 connects several major routes and towns together, namely connecting Simi Valley to Ventura in the west via one straight route, and also to Interstate 5 where it runs through Granada Hills and the other bedroom cities in the area. This allows auto shippers to quickly get to and from Simi Valley without having to take major detours.

It also connects Simi Valley to the 101, the main coastal freeway in California that also links to Oregon and Washington in the north. While 118 doesn’t connect directly to the 101, it connects to Highway 23, which services western Thousand Oaks, and connects to the 101 there. This also makes it easier for carriers to pickup and deliver in Simi Valley, though it is not the most popular auto transport location in the state of California.

You can likely save money by shipping to one of several destinations instead of Simi Valley, namely Ventura if you’re coming from the northern states of Oregon or Washington, or else somewhere near the I-5/118 interchange east of Granada Hills if you’re coming from the east. You should of course talk to your auto transportation representative, but a quick drive east or west can save you some time and money on your shipment, and could also facilitate pickup for a carrier that knows they won’t have to travel so far west into Simi Valley Proper.
