Irvine is a city located in Orange County, California. Home to over 223,000 residents, Irvine is a planned city, first developed by the Irvine Company during the 1960’s. Formally incorporated in 1971, Irvine has grown rapidly since its inception, so much so that several annexations have taken place, most notably of the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, a decommissioned Marine Corps aviation base that has plans to be turned into the Orange County Great Park, a massive public park that will feature a golf course, a cultural terrace with museums and libraries, a botanical garden, sports parks including soccer fields, baseball fields, rock climbing facilities and more, as well as a Veteran’s Memorial and a wildlife corridor.

Tips for Transporting a Vehicle to Irvine
Located in the Los Angeles metro area, about an hour southeast of Los Angeles, Irvine is a popular auto transportation destination due to its out-of-the-way location, yet is still close enough to Los Angeles to be considered a great area to pick up and drop off vehicles for auto transport customers. You can likely find great rates to ship to and from Irvine because of its proximity to the larger city.
When shipping to Irvine prices will likely be based on where you are shipping from. It sits in between Interstate 5 and Interstate 405, but there are no major east-west routes into Irvine, which can make it more expensive to ship there if you are shipping from the east. This shouldn’t bother too many auto shippers, however; the Los Angeles metro area is massive and as such easier to get around than many other areas.
Irvine is known for its congestion along major interstates, which can cause delays in pickup and delivery. Make sure that you talk to your auto transporter when the time comes for pickup or delivery, as they will likely be delayed in getting to you because of lots of traffic. Patience is required when waiting for a pickup or delivery regardless of where it is, but Irvine even more so, just like with much of the L.A. metro area.
