Auto Transport to and from Elk Grove
Elk Grove may be a part of the Sacramento Metropolitan Area, but you’ll likely find prices into and out of Elk Grove higher than into and out of Sacramento proper, namely due to the fact that Elk Grove is really only accessible via Highway 99 and surface streets. This makes it more difficult for carriers to run routes into and out of Elk Grove, and with nothing on either side of it Elk Grove just isn’t all that popular a shipping location.
Interstate 5 running just west of the city’s borders does help a bit in mitigating the price a bit, but it’s still not a huge factor. Carriers prefer running routes along major interstate highways; since I-5 is the prominent north-south interstate in the western United States, it’s a pretty heavily-traveled one. However, I-5’s route takes it west of Elk Grove, making it more difficult for shippers to get in and out of the city proper. You could try meeting them at a more convenient location along the interstate if you’re up for a bit of travel, and as always Sacramento will likely be cheaper than Elk Grove anyway.
You’ll want to discuss all this and more with your auto transport representative at the brokerage where you booked your order. Getting all the relevant information and a good overview of shipping to the city is a good idea, but details will have to come from your representative, as they’ll have all the up-to-date information on auto transport conditions in and out of Elk Grove including where carriers are running routes, where they are currently and what the current price structure is for Elk Grove.
