Center Point is a city located in Jefferson City, Alabama and is currently home to a population of over 22,700 residents. First settled by Americans in the early 19th century, the name “Center Point” wasn’t given to the area until the early 20th century. By the 1960’s the area was one of the largest unincorporated communities in the United States, though it would not be until 2002 that the area would be incorporated at all. The unincorporated areas of Center Point did not all become incorporated; though the surrounding area that was the Center Point CDP (census-designated place) was over 64,000, the incorporated boundaries were much smaller.
