Auto Transport Routes: Louisville to Portland
Louisville and Portland may not be the largest cities in the United States, but they are rather populous nonetheless and you’d be surprised at how many people move vehicles from Kentucky to Oregon. This particular route may not be as popular as some of the other routes we’ve covered in our Auto Transport Routes series, but it’s still a route that sees somewhat consistent action along and as such we figured we’d cover it here today. The most direct route to Portland from Louisville is generally a straight line; however, it makes it more difficult that there is no one interstate that connects the two, which will unfortunately raise the price as carriers will have to take multiple interstates to get there. However, this also means that there’s greater variance in the routes available; we’ll focus on the most direct route that will take the least amount of time.
Carriers looking to save some time usually head west along I-64 toward Saint Louis, where they can catch I-70 to go into Kansas City. Once in Kansas City, they can either opt to head north into Lincoln, where they can head west on I-80 through Nebraska and Wyoming and then catch I-84 in Salt Lake City, which they can then use to travel the rest of the way into Portland. This takes them through more rural areas, however, which can up your price a bit. Another way they can go is I-70 out of Saint Louis and simply stay on that interstate, which would take them through northern Kansas and into Denver. From Denver they could catch I-35 north to Cheyenne, where they can then catch I-80 to go west and catch I-84 at Salt Lake City. They can also stay on I-70 until it terminates at I-15 south of Salt Lake City, and from there go north to catch I-84 and then east into Portland. Really it depends on the cities and states that your carrier will service; you can always ask what specific route they are taking as well.
