Auto Transport Routes: Las Vegas to New York City

Auto Transport to Las Vegas
Las Vegas, Nevada

Most of the time, when you plan on driving from one city to another hundreds or thousands of miles away, you will plan the route you want to take, generally based on how fast it will get you there. And for most people that works fine, but when it comes to shipping vehicles from one city to another finding the best route from one to the other is a lot more than just finding out how fast you can get there.

Shippers need to be able to profit off the routes they drive, which generally means avoiding areas without major cities or routes that go through rural areas. In this edition of our Auto Transport Routes blog series, we will shed some light on how your vehicle will get moved from Las Vegas, Nevada, to New York City, New York.

Typically auto transporters coming east out of Las Vegas are going to take one of two main interstates, either I-70 or I-80. Both are major east-west routes, which helps the cause, but the fact of the matter is that both interstates have long stretches of few major metro areas along them which unfortunately ups the price a bit.

However, the fact that there’s one straight shot from one area to another makes it easier for shippers. But regardless of which interstate they take they’ll most likely run through Denver along I-70 and then decide to either stay on I-70 or take I-76 to its junction with I-80. Either will get them there, but I-80 takes them through some of the more northern cities in the country and could be a bit cheaper because of it.

I-70, however, will likely be used more during the winter months as it is a more southern route than I-80, though in the winter the treacherous routes through the Rocky Mountains may make it more expensive on the whole. You should of course talk to your auto shipper about their specific route, as their specific routes are based on where all their pickups and deliveries are going.
