Cleveland is a city in and the county seat of Bradley County, Tennessee. According to the official US Census conducted in 2000 the population of the city was over 37,000 and it is the principal city of the Cleveland, Tennessee Metropolitan Statistical Area which is actually part of the larger Chattanooga-Cleveland Combined Statistical Area.

Cleveland was established in 1837 and was founded to be the county seat for Bradley County which had been created the year previous. It was named after Colonel Benjamin Cleveland, who had commanded a unit during the Battle of Kings Mountain during the Revolution and the city grew on the back of its manufacturing sector. Today the city has a much more diverse economy and is in the midst of a major revitalization project.
