Ford Edge Auto TransportationThe Ford Edge is considered by the Ford Motor Company to be its main crossover-SUV. Featuring a body the size of a large car, but with the versatility and (diminished) towing capacity and relative look of an SUV, Ford has managed to keep the Edge at a reasonable size for its class, helping auto transportation companies to better price the vehicle for auto transportation customers. The Edge was introduced in 2006 as a 2007 model and was the first real crossover vehicle to gain popularity in the United States. Currently the Edge is sold in four models: the SE, SEL, Limited and Sport.

The SE model is the smallest and cheapest of the four Edge models, coming it at just $27,525 MSRP. Featuring a 3.5L twin-independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT) V6 engine, the MyFord Touch system and some other basic things, it’s the most basic of the Edge models for a reason. The SEL features the same type of engine but a bit more powerful, as well as a reverse sensing system and dual-zone climate control – and the same things that the SE has standard. The SEL comes in at $31,080, a major step up from the SE. The Limited costs $34,940 MSRP but also features what the SEL has as well as a rear-view camera, the Sync system, a Sony-built stereo system and 10-way heated powerforce driver’s seat. Apparently it’s a really cool seat. The Limited, the most expensive ($37,110 MSRP) comes with all that plus the kitchen sink! No, but really, you get all that plus the SelectShift automatic shifting system and 22-inc aluminum wheels. Apparently they cost $3,000. You can find more information on the Ford Edge here.

Whether you’re shipping the SE or the Limited, your auto transportation company should treat all of them the same. As a crossover, it’s not subject to any question in terms of size – typically it’ll be grouped in with full-size cars in terms of the cost for auto transportation, but it’s always best to talk to your auto transportation company about the price before booking anything. You shouldn’t have to worry about overweight or oversize vehicle fees that many auto transportation companies impose on larger vehicles.
