Auto Transport Services

Get the best when choosing an auto shipping service!

When calling or e-mailing an auto shipping broker or website to get a car shipping quote, it is best to be prepared to provide all of your transportation needs such as complete description of the vehicle that you are shipping and when you need it shipped and, of course, the pickup city and destination!

It is important to give the company providing you the quote, any details regarding when you need the vehicle shipped. If you need your vehicle shipped fast, you should give the transportation company as many phone numbers as possible in order for your transporter to contact you easily. Spots fill fast, especially in the summer or on the most traveled shipper routes. Auto transporters appreciate as much notice as possible.

Thousands of people every year ship their car using an automobile shipping company!

Getting multiple free quotes is just as easy as getting one!

What is the advantage of multiple car transport quotes to ship my vehicle?

There are many advantages of getting multiple car shipping rates. The FIRST reason is for those who are price shopping and trying to find the best shippers quote. Just remember price isn't everything when it comes to auto transport rates.

SECOND, book your vehicle with the vehicle transporter with the best customer service. You don't want to deal with someone who is rude, and unknowledgeable. There are many good and knowledgeable vehicle movers out there.

THIRD, you can book your car with the company who can get the car moved when you need it moved. Remember, the company can't guarantee pick or delivery dates. Also some auto shippers can offer a certain route cheaper then another, because they have a truck or trucks that drive that route on a regular basis, where as another hauler may be able to offer other routes for less.

Auto Hauling Worries?

Are the auto haulers safe?

Yes! All the auto hauling companies we refer are safe companies. Each transportation company is licensed and bonded through the Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) Every transporter is also required to have insurance coverage for each car that is shipped with any of their trucks. If there is ever a question about your cars safety, our shipping companies are more than happy to address your concerns. more shipper safety

Transportation Distance Calculator for Towing or Hauling

Moving automobiles & other vehicles starts with American Auto Shipping

How critical is distance in affecting auto transport rates?

Distance can be very critical in deducing a price for your auto shipping quote. Typically, the further the distance, the more the money, because the more miles the truck needs to drive to get there. However, short distances (less than 300 miles) can typically be done with a more local shipping company, though tow companies still charge an arm and a leg.

Will I save money with nationwide transporters vs. local auto shippers?

Well, that depends. How far are you shipping your vehicle? If it's less than 300 miles (a one day trip), and you live in a larger city, chances are you can find a local shipping company to ship your vehicle. However, if you're transporting a vehicle over 25 miles, don't go with a towing company - they love to take your money. Local companies are good for local shipments: Los Angeles to San Diego, San Francisco to Yreka, things like that. However, if you're shipping from Seattle to Boston, you'd better use nationwide auto transportation brokers.

Common Auto Transport Questions

Does it matter what type of vehicle I need to transport?

An auto transporter can move almost any type of vehicle from new hybrids to classic cars. There are certain requirements that the vehicle must meet. If the car doesn't roll, steer, or brake the auto carrier may not be willing to ship it. If the car doesn't run, but meets the other requirements, then you will have to pay extra because the car has to be winched on and off the truck. Regulations can vary from carrier to carrier and also depend on whether they ship by open car carrier, enclosed vehicle trailer or even by train. It's always best to ask what their hauling regulations are.

Car carrier companies can also provide enclosed auto transport trucks for an extra cost. Oversized vehicles can also be shipped, but it may cost extra. Examples of oversized are trucks or SUV's with very large lift kits, motor homes, and large cargo vans. Again, if you have any questions about shipping your vehicle contact your hauler or shipping broker you want to ship with after you get free shipment quotes from us!

If the car is low to the ground, you need to make sure your broker or hauler knows this before the car is shipped, so the truck driver can make sure the car can be loaded onto the truck without causing any damage. The vehicle hauling company you choose should be able to help you if you have any questions about the size or height of your vehicle.

Auto Shipping Questions & Helpful Answers

How about Classic Auto Transport for Classic Cars?

You love your classic car. The white-walled tires, the tailfins, the real chrome finish – it's the small things that make your classic a real beauty. But if you love that car as much as we think you do (a lot!), then why not take care of it when you're shipping it wherever it needs to go? You can't just drive it across the country – that'll put miles on it and decrease the value. You can't fly it – it's too big. So the only thing left for you to do is ship it with an auto transporter, and that's simple enough to do. However, there are some things you'll want to know about classic auto transport to make sure you're getting the best protection under the sun for your antique beauty.

Transporting classic vehicles is definitely different than transporting a regular, run-of-the-mill automobile because of the fact that it's a classic. It has certain needs that must be met if you're to avoid those nasty things like rust or weather damage, and it's important to meet those needs if you want your classic looking its absolute best. That's why, when shipping a classic vehicle, make sure you know the difference between open and enclosed shipping, and note everything so you're not left with any unanswered questions.

Typically, though, it's better to ship a classic in an enclosed container, and the reasons extend beyond the mere safety of the vehicle. Since open ten-car carriers are smaller and designed for newer vehicles, chances are that your 1962 Cadillac is a bit big for the regular trucks. Remember that classic cars weren't built with vehicle shipping in mind – they were a bit more concerned with the look, rather than the economy of it. A lot of older cars will have exotic features that make it oversized, such as rear V-shaped spoilers or gigantic tail fins or long hoods. Many classic cars are classic because of these features, but if you need to move it without driving it, you're going to have a harder time finding ways to do so. Starting with American Auto Shipping can save you that time!.

Enclosed shipping is more expensive, but it’s worth it when you consider the vehicles in question. Make sure you get all the answers before booking an exotic auto transport.
