Frequently Asked Car Transport Question

What is door-to-door car transport service?

Door to door service is when the car transport driver comes to you to pick and deliver your vehicle. This could be to your home, business, or other area agreed to by you and the car transporter. Door to door service is a normally what car transport companies offer, unless otherwise stated in the shipping order.

Most car transport trucks are 75 feet long and very wide, because of this they auto transport trucks cannot go up steep hills; streets with low hanging trees or power lines, narrow roads, residential streets with weight restrictions and cul-de-sacs. The car transport driver will call you 12-24 hours before the time of delivery. If you have any of those restrictions during that phone call is the best time to let the auto transport driver know.

At that time the car transporter will arrange with you to meet them at a local school, or other open un-restricted area to pick your vehicle. When the car transport driver gets to your area and can't get down your street, they will call you to make other arrangements. Remember, the car transport driver works by your schedule when it comes to pick and del so choose the best time for you.

Does it matter what type of car I need to transport?

An auto transport company can transport almost any car. There are certain requirements that the vehicle must meet. If the car doesn't roll, steer, or brake the auto transport company may not be willing to ship it. If the car doesn't run, but meets the other requirements, then you will have to pay extra because the car has to be winched on and off the truck. Regulations can vary from auto transport company to auto transport company. It's always best to ask what their regulations are.

If the car is low to the ground, you need to make sure auto transport company knows this before the car is shipped, so the truck driver can make sure the car can be loaded onto the truck with out causing any damage. The auto transport company you choose should be able to help you if you have any questions about the size or height of your vehicle.

Auto transport companies can also provide enclosed trucks for an extra cost. Oversized vehicles can also be shipped, but it may cost extra. Examples of oversized are trucks or SUV's with very large lift kits, motor homes, and large cargo vans. Again, if you have any questions about shipping your vehicle contact the auto transport want to ship with.
