West Virginia is a really unique state in the sense that it's the only state to secede from another state. If you're looking for auto transport to West Virginia, here are some more interesting facts and some local details before you decide:

West Virginia broke away from Virginia during the Civil War and was actually incorporated into the Union on June 20th, 1863 (this is known in West Virginia as "West Virginia Day"), and it's the only state (as said) to secede from another state. It's considered to be part of the south because most of the state lies below the historic Mason-Dixon Line, even though its northern panhandle extends into Pennsylvania and Ohio (and is actually parallel to Staten Island, New York). It's known for its natural beauty, and its many activities include skiing, hiking and hunting, among others. One of the many reasons to decide on auto transport there.

Pennsylvania lies to the north, with Ohio to the northwest. Kentucky lies directly to the west, Maryland to the northeast, and Virginia on its southeastern part. It's the only state to lie entirely within the Appalachian Mountain Range, and almost 75% of the state lies within the Cumberland Plateau and the Allegheny Plateau. It's considered to have a humid subtropical climate in the lower regions, which means that it has hot, humid summers and mild winters. However, in the more mountanous regions, it's classified as a humid continental climate, which means that summers are cooler and snow falls more in the winter. More reasons to choose auto transport to West Virginia.

When West Virginia decided to secede from Virginia, the case was brought to the Supreme Court of the U.S. What happened was that following the Civil War, Virginia fought the secession vote that was levied during the war, but Congress passed a joint resolution in 1866 that recognized the secession. In 1871, the Supreme Court finally decided in favor of West Virginia. However, there was a provision: West Virginia had to pay the state of Virginia for the lands that it took, estimated in the $12,000,000 range. The final fees were paid off in 1939.

There's so much to do in West Virginia that listing them all here would mean writing a novel. Suffice it to say, if you choose auto transport to the state, you won't be disappointed.
