Auto Transport to and from Sacramento

Some shippers may offer a discount if you mention you saw them on American Auto Shipping.com

Sacramento is the county seat of Sacramento County, and is the seventh-largest city in the state of California with just under 450,000 residents. It’s the cultural center of the four-county area where it resides, housing many cultural gems such as museums, zoos, historic buildings and much, much more. Read on to see what Sacramento has to offer for you.

The city was first settled by American industrialist John Sutter in 1840, calling it Sutter’s Fort at the time. It was constructed by Native American labor during the early 1840’s, and after its completion John Sutter received a gift of 2000 different fruit trees, which in turn began the agricultural business in the city. 1n 1848 the California Gold Rush began in earnest when gold was found at Sutter’s Mill, some 50 miles from the site of Sacramento. It was cemented with San Francisco as the place to find gold, and remained that way until the end of the gold rush. However, the city grew by leaps and bounds during this time and was incorporated as a city in 1850. The state capital was moved to the city in the early 1850’s and has remained there ever since.

Sacramento, like San Francisco, enjoys mild weather throughout the year, and with plenty of sunshine it really is the place to be. Its high temperature during the summer averages around 75, while in the winter highs peak at around 50. During the winter, lows can be seen dipping down to the mid-to-upper 50’s in summertime and the low-to-mid 40’s during the winter. Rain fall is typical for a Californian city, averaging about 12 inches or so per year.
