AmericanAutoShipping.comAuto Transport to and from Little RockSome shippers may offer a discount if you mention you saw them on American Auto Shipping.com Little Rock is the capital (and most populated city) of the state of Arkansas, with just over 184,000 people. It serves as the county seat of Pulaski County in the state, and lies very near the geographical center of Arkansas. It derives its name from a small rock formation along the Arkansas River, which was used extensively as a landmark by river traffic and became a well-known river crossing. The city is well known for being the home of William Jefferson Clinton, also known as the 42nd President of the United States, and his memorial library is located in the city. Not only that, but the city is home of the Capitol Tower, which just so happens to be the tallest building in Arkansas. It was also the site of the Little Rock Nine, which was a crisis in the city in 1957. Nine African-American students were enrolled in Little Rock Central High School, which was a racially-segregated school at the time. They were barred admittance by the governor at the time, and finally the United States Government had to step in to keep the peace. This is considered to be one of the most important moments in the Civil Rights Movement. Little Rock, like most other cities in the Southeast and Midwest, has hot, humid summers and cold winters. Precipitation levels are typical for where it is located, and temperatures can climb into the mid 90’s in summer and as low as the upper 20’s and 30’s in the peak winter months. During winter, rain falls much heavier, and can turn to snow if the weather is cold enough, though it rarely sticks for long. Many companies call Little Rock home, mainly for its business-friendly politics and its smaller population, and it’s also the home of many different parks, museums and libraries, including the William Jefferson Clinton Memorial Library. If you’re looking to ship your vehicle to or from Little Rock, look no further than American Auto Shipping.
