Cleveland is a city in and the county seat of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and it is currently the second largest city in the state and is also the county seat of the largest county in the state. Its population, at the time of the 2000 US Census, was over 478,000, and Cleveland is a major shipping and industrial town and one of the main cultural and economic centers of the Great Lakes region.

Cleveland was founded in 1976 and quickly became one of the major manufacturing cities west of the Appalachian Mountains, mainly due to its location on the Cuyahoga River. In recent years, however, its position as a major manufacturing city has declined with the loss of much of its manufacturing base; the city is currently in the midst of a major economic restructuring, with an emphasis being placed on high-tech and service-based jobs.

During the summer months the city’s temperatures typically hit around 85 degrees during the day, with overnight lows often dropping to around 65 degrees. During the winter, however, snow is relatively common, with temperatures hitting around 48 degrees during the day and dropping to around 30 degrees overnight.
