Auto Shipping Services to Nashua, NH

Nashua 1Nashua is a city located in Hillsborough County, in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. Home to a population of over 86,500 residents, Nashua is the second-largest city in the state, after Manchester, and one of the largest in the entire New England region. Incorporated in 1746, much of Nashua’s growth centered around the textile industry, which boomed during the 18th and 19th centuries in New England.

Come the 20th century, however, Nashua saw its textile mills slowly disappear and the city’s economy was forced to transform into a major retail and entertainment haven, and with the growth in New England during the last quarter of the 20th century, and into the 21st, today Nashua is considered a part of the Greater Boston, Massachusetts area.

Nashua sits about thirty miles or so northwest of Boston proper, right along the southern border of New Hampshire. As such, it’s often garouped into the Greater Boston Metropolitan Area, which really makes it easier for customers to ship vehicles into or out of the city.

Auto transport carriers like to run routes into and out of major metropolitan areas; they can easily get around a radius of about 50 miles or so without having to increase the prices they charge to customers, so shipping to or from Nashua will likely not make that much of a difference if there are carriers running routes into and out of Boston proper.

Part of what may make a difference in your price, however, is how your carrier will get into or out of Nashua. Auto shippers prefer to stick to major interstates in most areas, as they run through the largest cities in the country on easy-to-traverse roadways with plenty of room for them to maneuver. Nashua does not sit along any major interstates; on the contrary, it sits along Highway 3, which to be fair is an interstate highway – it’s just not a part of the Interstate Highway System.

Now, on the one hand it probably won’t make that big of a difference in your price – it runs straight to Boston and connects with I-93 north of Manchester, the largest city in New Hampshire. At the same time, though, New Hampshire isn’t that popular of a location to ship to or from, not like Boston is, which could affect your prices or services.

Shipping to or from Nashua during the winter months can be difficult because of the snow. Nashua sees quite a bit of snowfall during the winter months, though trace amounts of snow start to fall in October and only worsen through the new year. During the spring and summer is when most carriers want to run routes into or out of Nashua, since they can avoid the cold depths of the winter season.

Boston will likely be a better option during the winter months, depending on where you’re shipping from or to, as the urban heat effect tends to keep the area of Boston clear – as does its more sophisticated road management system.
