Happy Saint Paddy’s Day

Wednesday, 17 March 2010 15:50 by TransportBlogger

Today is that illustrious holiday that was a favorite of mine until becoming a mother. I still enjoy the day, but I celebrate it quite differently than I’ve done it the past. My festivities of yesteryear included green beer, Celtic music, Ren-Faire garb, and great food. I’ve been fortunate to celebrate St. Patrick’s day in many happening cities like Chicago, Portland, New York, and Pittsburgh. My favorite is Chicago – I mean who can top a hot nightspot like this, especially when they even go to the great lengths of dyeing the Chicago River green.

This year, we didn’t do much more than wear something green. Most of my family is sick with the flu. It’s a terrible cycle that’s been going on for weeks. We’re all so sick of being sick; recently, I’ve taken to a daily spray-down of Lysol on common surfaces like doorknobs, counters, and toys. Despite all of this, we’re preparing for a very large, cross-country move this summer.

One thing that has absolutely nothing to do with St. Paddy’s day, but everything to do with moving is auto transport. I am seriously planning to work with an auto transport broker myself to reduce some of the stress we’re experiencing. After analyzing the dollars spent towing my Taurus to Fresno, California a few years ago, I’m positive that I will save money. Auto transport can often save people money; especially if the move is over a long distance.

I spent over $1000 to tow my car to California. I know that I would pay less by a third or more of this cost if I had chose an auto transport broker over the traditional, do-it-yourself method. I won’t make the same mistake again.

Take the time to analyze these facts yourself, before finalizing your next relocation. You may be surprised to see how much money and hassle you might save when considering auto transport as your alternative. You’ll experience less stress and be glad to check this item off your long list of to-do’s. Plan ahead of time to maximize your savings during a move and remember to work with reputable companies for the best possible service. If you’re not sure of a company’s background, you may wish to check them out on BBB.org. If you’re looking into an auto transport company, visit TransportReviews.com for the best in consumer driven feedback and rankings.

National Auto Transport News Headline

Tuesday, 16 March 2010 10:50 by TransportBlogger

Fox television has featured a brief article that describes how 2,000 federal transport employees have been furloughed without pay. This ruling is speculated to create a cascading effect down through the individual construction sites and their workers, displacing nearly 400,000 workers in total.

With the economy in such a downward spiral, it is important for consumers to improve their personal debt and employment outlooks. Some basic methods for saving money include cutting back on expenses, finding alternative ways to accomplish expensive tasks, and even relocating to regions with better employment.

Take a few moments to assess your personal expenses this month. Sit down and actually write out a budget, use this to track actual costs as the month progresses and this analysis will help you to see where you could reduce expenses over time. It may be as simple as skipping that afternoon latte or eating family meals at home. You will be surprised at how much you can save if you really try to be frugal.

There are many ways to complete tasks that are typically expensive. Everyone will agree that moving can be very expensive. However, most people believe that it’s cheaper to drive or tow their own car rather than ship with an auto transport company. This is an illusion – especially in long distance moving situations. The last move I made was across the United States and I spent over $1000 in gas expenses, more if you include the tow dolly rental fees. Consider working with an auto transport broker before planning your next move. You may save yourself hundreds of dollars and greatly reduce your stress.

Relocating to regions with lower unemployment rates is another way to get ahead in this dismal economy. Researching facts and figures of interesting locales is easy with the web. Just do a quick Google search to learn all about a prospective home. Once you know where you’re going, you may also wish to secure auto transport through a reputable broker. American Auto Shipping offers a free and quick service to assist you in this process. Visit American to receive online quotes from up to 10 reputable auto transport brokers.

American will help you plan your auto transport from start to finish. Their pre-screened network of professional brokers, have some of the highest ratings and standards in the auto transport industry. Visit American today to get started and receive your free quotes.

The Web's Best: Online Moving Help

Monday, 15 March 2010 16:40 by TransportBlogger

There are so many web sites to navigate with an abundance of information and topics. Here is a listing of some top sites to visit if you’re planning a move or auto transport in the near future.

1. Help to save the environment this move. Instead of buying new boxes for packing, visit some local businesses (especially places like FedEx Kinko’s) and ask if they have discarded boxes you could have for moving. You can also buy used boxes online, by visiting usedcardboardboxes.com. Here you’ll get free shipping and not contribute to our growing waste problem.

2. Do you need some help with planning? Planning ahead is a huge timesaver and will reduce the stress of your move. Visit One Simple Move to use their free planning resources. You’ll also find great advice and tips for preparing your family, finances, and belongings.

3. If you’re looking for great moving tips, then you’ll want to download U-Haul’s free moving guide. It’s full of good information to help you plan your move. Featuring truck sizes, pricing, and various details, it provides consumers with a glimpse of the concerns and costs associated with moving.

4. Purge. You will want to have numerous garage sales, trips to Goodwill, and even a trip to several recyclers before you complete your packing. We all acquire lots of unnecessary goods over the years and moving is the best time to purge these items. Try to eliminate these things with a minimal impact on the environment. Yard sales are a great way to make money that will pay for your packing supplies.

5. Consider working with an auto transport broker. Don’t be hasty and simply decide to transport your car via tow dolly or long drive. Take the time to weigh the costs and options and see if auto transport may not be for you in the end. You’ll save on stress, time, and money when you work with an auto transport broker for your vehicle move. American Auto Shipping offers a free online quote service that provides instant auto transport rates. It’s easy to get started, simply visit AmericanAutoShipping.com and submit their brief online questionnaire. Within seconds, you will receive a listing of up to 10 reputable auto transport brokers ready to help with your move. You can also rest assured when working with American because they do their homework when it comes to background checks and reputation. Only the best auto transport brokers make the cut to be part of the American network.

Make Auto Transport Worry Free

Friday, 12 March 2010 08:52 by TransportBlogger

Moving is a difficult task for anyone. There are so many factors to consider and it’s easy to get wrapped up in worrying about how everything will turn out. Here are some great tips to help you make your next move more worry free – especially if you’re considering auto transport.

1. Work with an auto transport broker.
You will experience a bigger advantage when you choose to work with an auto transport broker in place of a carrier for your vehicle move. This is because most reputable brokers possess much larger resources to handle your individual needs ultimately resulting in lower prices and faster delivery schedules. Additionally, you will experience the benefits of working with a company with many years of experience like American Auto Shipping.

2. Research company reputation cautiously.
It pays to know who you’re working with and if you believe that they are trustworthy. You never want to hand over your personal property to just any Joe Somebody. Remember that there are great places to check company backgrounds online before you are locked into an auto transport contract. Pay a quick visit to TransportReviews.com and the BBB.org before finalizing auto transport details. You will be glad that you did this homework upfront.

3. Tow-it-yourself versus auto shipping.
Weigh the costs carefully before you decide to tow a car yourself. Depending on the distance you might pay extra for tow dolly rental costs and gasoline during the drive. Overall, many consumers are surprised at just how reasonable the cost of auto transport can be. Don’t make the mistake of spending more than you need to for vehicle transportation. Driving or towing by yourself can cost much more in time as well. Reduce your hours traveling on the road and breathe easier knowing that your auto transport is scheduled and ready for shipment. Then check this item off your to do list and move on to other important items.

4. Find auto transport companies faster.
Visit American Auto Shipping to find reputable companies even faster. Just fill out their brief online questionnaire to be presented with up to 10 experienced and dependable auto transport brokers to help you plan your move. You’ll receive these detailed results within seconds of submitting your form online and can begin narrowing down your choices. You can also rest easier knowing that American carefully pre-screens all partnering companies to ensure the highest customer satisfaction ratings.

Helping Find Auto Transport for the Guy Next Door

Thursday, 11 March 2010 05:58 by TransportBlogger

My neighbor is moving to Cincinnati, Ohio. Now for those of you that have been reading this blog a while, you may already know that I live in Fresno, California. It’s quite a haul to complete a do-it-yourself-style move from here to Cincinnati. Although, I will add that the sites along the way are wonderful – if you have time for such leisurely activities while moving.

You won’t want to miss the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone Park, the Petrified Forest, or Hot Springs if you have the time to visit. I did Yellowstone Park in a day and am still wishing I had more time. In fact, Yellowstone is so awesome I recommend spending 3 to 4 days minimum if you’re able.

It still surprises me to see how many people initially write off contracting auto transport due to the expense. I’m guilty of this as well, but once you’ve done a move like this, you quickly see the error of your ways and dollars. In short, I’m doing all that I can to help my neighbor weigh these costs as he begins his relocation journey.

To help my guy-next-door in Fresno, I logged on to American Auto Transport. This site provides a convenient and quick way for me to locate reputable auto transport brokers that I feel good about recommending to my friend. I have peace of mind, knowing that they strictly evaluate any partnering companies to ensure only the best reputations in the auto transport industry. It’s good to know that there is a free quote service available that only recommends companies that meet the same standards I would expect.

Auto transport is one of the best ways to reduce stress when moving. You won’t need to deal with long hours of driving time, expensive gasoline costs, or vehicle wear and tear. It makes sense to consider this option and American makes it easy to do this online.

Working with a trustworthy broker saves time and money. You will appreciate their expertise and guidance through your planning process as well as their customer advocacy in the event of future conflicts. American Auto Shipping provides a wealth of auto transport information to anyone interested in learning the in’s and out’s of auto transport. Visit American to get free quotes from up to 10, pre-screened auto transport brokers today.

Auto Transport is a Great Stress Reducer

Wednesday, 10 March 2010 15:44 by TransportBlogger

Moving is a tough job; whether it’s next door, down the street, or perhaps even cross-country. I must admit that my stress threshold rises when I consider a long distance move across the United States. There are many things that can help to reduce stress when moving. Some of these are rudimentary and some are some things that may not have entered our consciousness yet.

Many people relocating over a great distance immediately decide to drive or tow their vehicles in a do-it-yourself-style move. This is a feasible solution for many, but they may not realize that they are spending more in gas, time, and added wear and tear then they would if they only considered auto transport. The cost to ship a vehicle may seem expensive at first glance, but the prices of gas continue to rise and this expense is huge when driving or especially towing yourself.

A few years ago, I drove from Pennsylvania to California in a rental truck that towed my Taurus. I spent over $1000 in gas alone. I could have shipped my car for much less than this amount and saved myself a great deal of hassle. Looking back, when I consider the cost of the rental tow dolly, plus gas, and the slowed rate of travel, I wish I would’ve considered working with an auto transport broker.

Most reputable auto transport brokers are experts at assisting customers with their upcoming vehicle move. They help you plan the relocation from start to finish and are there for you if any concerns arise during the journey. Reliable brokers deliver lower prices and improved delivery time frames for their customers and the assurance that they will only work with the best rated, industry carriers.

If you’re in the market for auto transport, you will benefit in visiting American Auto Shipping. Here, they provide free and instant quotes from pre-screened, dependable auto transport brokers. Only the best make American’s cut and this provides a wealth of peace of mind for their customers. Try American’s free quote service to get started in planning a move with less stress.

To get started, simply complete the brief online form. You will be presented with a listing of up to 10 reputable and experienced auto transport brokers with preliminary pricing. Weigh the costs, then call an auto transport expert to schedule your vehicle move.

What’s Important to an Auto Transport Broker?

Tuesday, 9 March 2010 09:02 by TransportBlogger

Auto transport brokers are very helpful professionals when it comes to planning and executing auto transport. Most brokers are able to secure better auto transport rates by having a larger pool of carrier companies and schedules to choose from when scheduling your vehicle relocation. What are some things that the best auto transport brokers look for? Here’s a brief list of the top concerns to the most reputable industry brokers.

1. Adequate insurance coverage.
It is very important that a carrier company provide adequate insurance coverage. What’s adequate? Good brokers consider adequate insurance coverage to be whatever it takes to provide 100% insurance coverage for any potential damages to your personal property.

2. Established, trustworthy reputation.
A lousy carrier won’t tell you upfront that they’re lousy. However, any reputable broker simply won’t work with a lousy carrier. This is because their reputation is on the line in such cases and the risk just isn’t worthwhile. When you choose to book your auto transport with an experienced broker, you gain additional insurance for your shipment. This is because a good broker will defend their client against any disputes arising from cost increases, delivery delays, or damages. In effect, a dependable broker becomes an advocate for the consumer in these cases and is quite often, fighting alongside you to preserve their own reputation. They have a personal stake in the matter too.

3. On-time delivery track record.
No one likes to receive their personal property delivered after a scheduled due date. This is just as important to a broker as it is a consumer. In the end, delivery timeframes place a great amount of importance on the overall customer satisfaction of an auto transport experience. Unfortunate consumers, working directly with carriers, have often been forced to wait weeks or even months for delivery of their vehicle. Don’t let this happen to you. Plan your auto transport with a seasoned, professional broker, like the companies represented by American Auto Shipping. All have been carefully pre-screened to withhold the highest standards in the industry.

4. Fair rates and business practices.
Reputable auto transport brokers prefer to work with carrier companies that practice fair and competent business methods. Many carriers are known to surprise unsuspecting consumers with increased up-charges that were not present on the initial quote. When working with a broker, consumers have greater assurance that rates will not increase once a shipment has been arranged in writing.

Tips for Finding Enclosed Auto Transport

Monday, 8 March 2010 08:10 by TransportBlogger

Enclosed auto transport is often desired when an individual is required to ship a classic or collectible car over a long distance. This is because an enclosed carrier offers special protection from the elements and other hazards throughout the journey. If you’re one who holds your car near and dear, then you will want to know some things to look for in auto transport brokers.

Auto transport reviews are one of the best resources for determining company reputation and reliability. If you’re in the market for auto transport, don’t miss out on the consumer-drive feedback contained on the TransportReviews.com web site. You may also wish to browse any information available with the Better Business Bureau. Here, you’ll get a glimpse of any recent conflicts and their resolutions.

It’s easy to get an auto transport quote online at American Auto Shipping. Visit this site to receive up to 10 free quotes instantly for your auto transport move. When you work with American, you can rest easier knowing that all participating companies have been carefully evaluated to meet the highest criteria in the industry for customer satisfaction. They’ve already checked Transport Reviews and the Better Business Bureau before even considering them as a business affiliate.

Enclosed auto transport is often a customized request and one that may cost additional money. However, if you’re an individual that is concerned about random damages occurring to their car in transit, it is well worth the cost in peace of mind.

More consumer advice for auto transport suggests the preference of working with a broker rather than directly with a carrier. There have been some shady dealings happening to many customers that worked with carrier companies. Some were faced with increased charges for things never discussed before booking. Others waited weeks and months for delivery of their vehicles. It’s so important for consumers to work with a reputable company, especially when transporting valuable property. Working with an auto transport broker provides improved customer service to the customer. Auto transport brokers also provide guidance and advocacy for the customer in the event of disputes or damages. They are as concerned with reputation as consumers are. This is paramount because their reputation is on the line too.

Working with an auto transport broker will often bring better pricing and availability with more reasonable delivery times. It’s a safer and simpler way to contract transport services. To find a reputable broker right now, visit Americanautoshipping.com.

Hot Tips for Auto Transport

Friday, 5 March 2010 16:28 by TransportBlogger

Moving is a stressful event in most lives. Here are some hot industry tips to ensure your auto transport is as satisfactory as possible.

1. Take the time to research.
Take the time to properly research any prospective auto transport companies before you sign a contract. The web provides a vast resource for us to dig into company backgrounds with amazing detail and finesse. Anytime you’re unsure of a company; perhaps you have a hunch or bad feeling, listen to your gut instinct and find another auto transport broker to work with. I firmly believe that there is something to be said for those tiny moments of hesitation and self-doubt sometimes – this is not a time to gamble.

2. Get multiple quotes for the best prices.
Make sure you get a wide range of auto transport estimates to ensure the most competitive price for your vehicle move. If you’re looking for a way to save time in contacting multiple companies, visit American Auto Shipping for a single form submission for quotes from up to 10 reputable, auto transport companies.

3. Be wary of high pressure sales tactics.
Try to avoid any auto transport companies that use high pressure tactics. You should also know that most dependable brokers do not require payment of any kind until your vehicle has been loaded on the truck for shipment. Many consumers prefer working directly with auto transport brokers rather than carriers due to some common complaints in the industry. Often, many consumers are plagued with surprise up-charges, delayed delivery time frames, and long disputes over any damages.

4. Prep your car before transport.
Proper preparation involves a thorough cleaning of your vehicle – inside and out. Remove any important or special personal belongings; or you might find these missing at the end of your car’s journey. Also, you’ll want to spend adequate time working with your driver to complete a detailed report of your car’s condition at the time of pickup. This report is very important as it will become the baseline for dealing with any accidental damages during shipping.

5. Trust in available customer feedback.
Sites such as Transport Review and the Better Business Bureau are largely driven by consumer feedback. These great online resources show a full picture of an auto transport company’s image with real customer comments and ratings. If you’re still on the fence when making your decision on which company to work with; these sites can help to present the information you need to finalize arrangements.

What's Important to an Auto Transport Broker?

Friday, 5 March 2010 15:54 by TransportBlogger

It can be difficult indeed to navigate the murky waters of auto transport. How do you know which companies you can trust? How do you sort through the reputable auto transport brokers and the one’s that may leave you sorry? Here’s a quick glimpse at the factors important to most reputable auto transport brokers.

1. Avoid unreliable carriers.
Brokers only select the best companies to work with because it’s their reputation on the line. Trustworthy brokers take the time to look into any prospective carrier’s full background before bringing them into their pool of approved shipping companies. Auto transport brokers bring many consumer benefits to the table in terms of cost, experience, and relocation management.

2. Adequate insurance coverage is always required.
In most cases, consumers should have no need to front additional insurance to support their auto transport relocation. Carriers are required to carry the proper coverage benefits at all times. If you’re doing the footwork yourself in hopes of working directly with a carrier company for your move, be sure to request this information for your personal review. Additionally, you will also want to request proof of proper licensing to ensure you’re working with a legitimate and credible company before signing a contract.

3. All credible reputation information is driven by consumer feedback.
Professional auto transport brokers rely on respected sources of consumer-driven reports like Transportreviews.com and the Better Business Bureau. A good broker can’t simply take the word of a candidate company. No, they must do the homework with diligence to determine their reputation is supported with valid, believable, and positive customer feedback. Only the best companies make the cut as leading auto transport brokers.

4. Standardized, effective, and satisfactory business practices.
The best brokers won’t work with companies that have vague billing practices or poor customer service. They expect companies to remain honorable throughout the transaction and to quickly rectify any problems that arise quickly and in a manner that maintains customer satisfaction. In fact, the best auto transport brokers will team up with you as an advocate for your rights if trouble arises. It is advisable to be wary of carriers, which require payments prior to vehicle loading.

Are you looking for a reliable auto transport broker for an upcoming, cross-country move? If you are, then take a closer look at American Auto Shipping for free quotes from reputable brokers.
